Food is really good, just wish the folks running it were a little nicer.

Warm, friendly, inviting and Grandma friendly. Honestly, that's important. The food was good and they have combo specials all day long. Old school Chinese restaurant decor reminds me of places when I was a kid. A little more pricey than some other places, but it's my favorite Chinese place in town.

Believe me,I'm 65 and tried out so many Chinese restaurants. This was just like the food I ate in Chicago growing up. This was the best ever. I ordered beef chow mein ,it was so delicious and tasty, the beef was tender and moist and the chow mein was not dry. I ordered spring rolls that were big and delicious . The sweet and sour sauce was good too. One order was enough for 3 people. I can't wait to try all the other dishes soon. I Enjoyed every bite.Your now my #1 Chinese food restaurant.(Doordash delivered my food hot and fast.(One again bought the beef chow mein. The best ever.

Went to a couple of Chinese places in town and they were not the greatest but this place was awesome.

Old lady was kind of rude. Orange chicken was fluffed up by broccoli, kinda weird but good. Chicken chow mein was really good. Very expensive tho.

Food is excellent, I love it. However they aren't clean. my last visit I saw a roach walking along the wall. I draw the line there regardless of how delicious their food may be. that's just me.

Really good atmosphere, almost empty when we reached there. The food was good, waiters were really polite and willing to do modifications based on needs

I went with my tías and it was bomb.💙 I loved the food the soups their are great. The waiters their are so nice their grate. They are sweet and my cousin was joking and shakes his cup to get more water and she came and we laughed and the lady laughed.😂

Best seafood in town!!! Flavorful, aromatic,fresh, hot and delicious. The restaurant is is eloquent and tranquil while the food is enthralling and invigorating. Definitely one of Merced's best restaurants and all while being inexpensive. A true treat for the family whether dining in or on the go if you've yet to try Golden Bowl I recommend it.

The food was not very good! Beef and broccoli was extremely bland. Orange chicken also wasnt very flavorful chicken was dry.

This is the best Asian restaurant you can come to. Amazing! Food is always delicious and fresh made. Please do yourself a favor and come here at least once! ...it's never crowded and the service is great. The always make sure you have what you need before you even ask for it.

Ordered the Combination Chow Mein and Prawns with Broccoli.Overpriced and ZERO flavor. This was my third time trying this place, and it seems to get worse with each trip. Will not be giving them another chance.

One of the best Chinese restaurants around. The Merced location serves particularly high quality and delicious fare.

Had a late craving, and MANNN did the Golden Bowl deliver. Pan fried chowmein, fried rice and beef and broccoli DELICIOUS!!! Egg rolls and general chicken was the BOMB!!!

Extremely nice people and quick service, but the prices are a bit high and the food is so-so. In case they read their reviews, I'll add this, pot stickers aren't filled enough, veggies are too soggy and in general, you don't picture an accomplished chef back there cooking. I'm sorry, but right now, I'd rather eat at one of the Thai restaurants or Panda Express 😕

Love it! One of mine and my husbands favorite places to eat. Very flavorful, huge portions, and nice staff. We eat in peace every time doesn’t get packed so it’s nice.

I like Golden Bowl Chinese food. We have recently moved to Merced from the Bay Area and where looking for a decent Chinese restaurant. My wife wanted something in Rite Aid and saw The Golden Bowl restaurant and decided to give them a try. To our surprise the food was good. We always try something different. Most of what we tried wasn't to bad. Needless to say I'll go back for some more good food. I bet you find something good too.

The food was good it was just prepared differently than the last time I visited the golden Bowl. The honey walnut prawns had no broccoli with it this time and too much mayo in the sauce

This place definitely used to be great and that's the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars. Now the food taste bland and of cheap quality, inside the place is unkempt and dirty. Roaches literally crawling across the floor. I dont know what happened, their shrimp fried rice used to be amazing but my last three times here have been massive disappointments.

Five stars for the best BBQ pork in Merced to date (plus the fried rice and chow mein versions) and the sweet and sour chicken with the sauce on the side. This results in shattering crust fried chicken pieces that are amazing. I usually get this to go. The dining room is expansive and comfortable but the music could use some help as it tends to be Musaky and makes one sleepy. Nice variety of table options from couple to group sizes. The location is handy but watch the hours as these have changed lately regarding lunch and afternoons.
